The two twin ponds (Waste Pond 718 and 719) are active in the site since 1970, each one has a capacity of 1,000 cubic metres.
The ponds were intended to house the releasable effluents resulting from plant operations and to check them before the discharge in Dora Baltea River.
On August 2013, the emptying and reclamation activities of Waste Pond 719 were completed and the residual substances (sludges) on the bottom of the pond were recovered. Waste Pond 718 is still working.
In 2015, the two ponds werecovered with light structures to protect them from the weather.
