Relationship with Stakeholders

Sogin's mission is to carry out the decommissioning of the Italian nuclear plants and to manage radioactive waste respecting the environment and according to the best safety standards. Two commitments in which maximum attention is paid to the ethical value of the strategic choices and operational activities that are implemented.

For Sogin, doing corporate social responsibility means paying attention to the impact of its activities from a social, environmental and economic point of view. This approach is showed in the continuous activities of transparency, information, involvement, accountability and enhancement of know-how but also in the commitment to measure the value that it manages to create for the territories in which it operates. In this regard, Sogin publishes a Sustainability Report.

Constant commitment to sustainability allows Sogin to contribute to achieve the goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Sustainability is a path for Sogin, made of values, experiences and people. To achieve our mission in a sustainable way, in fact, we believe it is necessary to constantly dialogue with our stakeholders, creating a lasting relationship with them, based on listening and transparency. To this, the occasions for information, training and discussion opportunities are aimed that is to talk about our work and to show the places where it takes place to our stakeholders, at local and national, institutional and other levels.

To be sustainable we believe it is necessary to make innovation a cornerstone, therefore developing highly specialized know-how to face the technological challenges of decommissioning, but also those of sustainable development. This is why we adopt a circular economy model, which tends to minimize waste production and encourage the re-use of materials in carrying out our activities.
