Construction of the materials management station

In 2016, the premises once used for ventilation systems were emptied from accumulators and other parts of the emergency cooling system. The same premises will be destined to a Station for the management of materials, aimed at minimising radioactive waste through the decontamination of the substances of the plant and their subsequent discharge as conventional waste.

The station will carry out several processes: waste treatment, characterisation, decontamination, cutting and size-reduction.

The final project of the Station is under completion; civil and plant works are planned by 2020, while machines and components will be supplied and installed next year.
