As shown in the table, 1530 tons (98%) out of a total of about 1570 tons of materials – mainly consisting of concrete and metal components - resulting from the dismantling of Bosco Marengo Plant will be recovered.
As for other sites under decommissioning, the adaptation interventions carried out on Bosco Marengo structures and plants allowed to reuse the existing buildings for decommissioning and radioactive waste management purposes, thus avoiding the construction of new buildings, in line with the principles of circular economy.
For example, the B106 temporary repository was recovered from a pre-existing building to store the radioactive waste located in the Site before their shipment to the National Repository.
