The Sogin Group is the only Italian company that encompasses all the professionalism of decommissioning and radioactive waste management. Indeed, they are complex activities that develop over a long period of time and that do not have as their reference best practices and consolidated knowledge in the international scene: no country has so far carried out the dismantling of an entire energy supply chain as Sogin is doing with Italian nuclear power. 

The know-how of our human resources, consolidated by over 20 years of experience in the sector, therefore represents one of the main assets to strengthen the organizational structure and achieve the company mission. 

The continuous updating of the skills - technical, managerial, behavioral - of the people takes place through structured training plans, also for specific professional profiles​, and in line with career paths.
In 2018, 30.843 average hours of training were provided in technical-specialist, managerial, behavioral and nuclear and conventional safety, in particular:

  • technical-specialist training on the management of technical visits for the qualification of economic operators based on the UNI EN ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001, on total cost management, on regulatory updating (European directives, new procurement code and accounting principles) and on improving computer skills;
  • transversal training aimed at human resource targets aimed at strengthening "soft skills";
  • training on Project Management;
  • training on corruption prevention and transparency;
  • training aimed at obtaining the certification of welding coordinator and non-destructive testing operator (VT-PT-MT-UT Methods);
  • on Legislative Decree no. 231/2001 and on the Organizational Model for new hires.
​The evaluation of the satisfaction questionnaires highlighted the consistency of the courses chosen with what was requested, recording a high level of satisfaction with the courses provided internally and designed specifically for the Sogin personnel involved. 

Radwaste Management School, the training center of the Sogin Group, is also involved in the implementation of the training programs, which plans and implements didactic programs for our human resources, as well as for external subjects. In particular, the School provides compulsory training to meet the requirements imposed, with respect to updates to the Consolidated Law on Health and Safety at Work (Legislative Decree No. 81/2008) and, for more specifically nuclear issues, of the Legislative Decree no. 230/1995 and subsequent amendments and additions.
