UPO and Sogin: award ceremony for the third edition of the Master's Degree for Environmental Managers

The Aula Magna at the School of Medicine at the University of Eastern Piedmont, Palazzo Bellini in Novara yesterday hosted the closing ceremony for the third edition of the first-level Master’s for "Environmental manager for the management of decommissioning and radioactive waste in the health, industrial and research fields ".
The Master's Degree, run in collaboration between the University and Sogin, with the patronage of the Azienda Ospedaliero - Universitaria Maggiore della Carità di Novara and the Azienda Ospedaliero - Universitaria di Alessandria, (AOUAL), aims to train experienced professionals in radioactive waste management in both the medical and industrial fields, including from a managerial perspective.
The ceremony, introduced by Prof. Michele Arneodo, Director of the Master's Degree, was attended by the President of Sogin, Admiral Carlo Massagli, the Chancellor of the University of Eastern Piedmont, Prof. Menico Rizzi, and the Director of the Department of Health Sciences, Prof. Lia Rimondini. All the speakers underlined the importance of this training course in addressing the challenges related to the responsible management of radioactive waste.

"This Masterl's degree, which Sogin has been collaborating on for years, represents a tangible example of how education and training can contribute to safety and sustainability in the nuclear sector," said the President of Sogin, Admiral Carlo Massagli. The President's speech outlined the most significant stages and turning points in the current debate around nuclear energy, both within the country and international context, underlining that Italy has a great deal of expertise in this field, both at an industrial and university level. At the end of the ceremony, degrees were awarded to the participants who had successfully completed the training course.

With this renewed collaboration with the UPO, Sogin confirms its commitment, through the Radwaste Management School, to the training and skills development of professionals ready to respond to the challenges in the sector.​​​​
