The new Nucleco (Sogin Group) Board of Directors has taken office: Fabrizio Scolamacchia appointed CEO

The new Board of Directors of Nucleco, a Sogin Group company (60%) and subsidiary of Enea (40%), specialising in radioactive waste management and in the decontamination and remediation of industrial facilities, took office today.

The Board confirmed Nadia Cherubini, Head of Technologies, Plants and Materials for Nuclear Fission at Enea, as Chairperson and appointed Fabrizio Scolamacchia as Chief Executive Officer. Belinda Sepe, Director of Administration, Resources, Systems and ICT at Sogin completed the Board’s composition. The Board will remain in office for the next three years.

Fabrizio Scolamacchia, after graduating in mechanical engineering, began his professional career in project management at Alenia Spazio, now Thales Alenia Space. In 2004, he joined Sogin, the state company responsible for the dismantling of Italian nuclear plants, the siting and construction of the National Repository for radioactive waste and the industrial development of the sites where it operates.
 
Over the years, Scolamacchia has held roles with increasing responsibility at Sogin, including Head of the decommissioning of the Garigliano nuclear power plant (Sessa Aurunca) and Head of the construction of the Cemex Complex in Saluggia. From 2023, he has been the Company’s Purchasing and Procurement Director.
