Sogin has completed the Contract for Consulting Services for Javys, the Slovak state-owned company responsible for the decommissioning of the V1 nuclear power plant in Bohunice. This Contract had begun in 2015.

Over the past ten years, Sogin has assisted Javys in engineering, contract management, monitoring, planning, and has also contributed to the preparation of documentation for the dismantling and decontamination of the nuclear power plant, whose implementation has been contracted out over the years.

At the end of 2014, following an international tender, Sogin was awarded this contract, prevailing over five other bidders representing the best European companies in the sector of decommissioning.

The decommissioning programme of the Soviet-designed V1 power plant in Bohunice, shut-down in 2006, is financed through the Bohunice International Decommissioning Support Fund (BIDSF), administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
