Sogin Group subscribes to M'illumino di Meno 2025
14 February 2025
Once again this year, the Sogin Group is participating in "M'Illumino di Meno” [“Light up Less”], the National Day for Energy Savings and Sustainable Lifestyles, conceived and promoted by the Caterpillar radio programme on Rai Radio 2.
Starting from today and for the next four days, lights and electrical equipment will be switched off at the Sogin Group's headquarters; an "energy silence" marking our focus on energy saving and its responsible use.
In addition, the Company promotes awareness-raising actions aimed at all employees to spread a culture of energy and the saving of resources. These include the planned sharing of a decalogue of good practices through internal communication channels, i.e. conduct and a series of activities that everyone can put into practice on a daily basis, such as turning off the PC and the lights at the end of the working day, both at the office and when smartworking. These activities had already been proposed in the previous edition, and now form part of the Company’s best practices.
Through external communication channels, the Group intends to actively contribute to disseminating and promoting the messages of the M’Illumino di Meno campaign. For years, Sogin has been committed to reducing its environmental impact with targeted choices, implemented thanks to the cooperation of its employees. For example, free beverages are dispensed at company canteens using distributors, thus reducing the use of plastic and cans, shared printer use has been introduced at offices, so that one device is used by multiple rooms. We have also subscribed to the programme planned by the Transport Company of Rome to reduce transportation by individual cars, providing free public transport subscriptions to the staff at the head office.
The "M'illumino di Meno" campaign, which is marked on 16 February, was recognized as a National Day with Law no. 34/2022, a significant date that recognises the entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol in 2005.
Sogin’s involvement is confirmation of its commitment to the conscious use of resources and a further opportunity to raise awareness in the community about the importance of energy savings and the role that everyone can play in promoting sustainable lifestyles.
