Sogin files complaints against the spokesman of the Cova Contro Association
04 October 2024

Sogin has filed two complaints with the Judicial Authority against the Cova Contro Association and its spokesperson.
The first referred to the unauthorised publication of a video containing aerial footage of the Trisaia deactivation area, and in violation of the no-fly zone.
The second complaint referred to the publication on its website and before the persons involved received formal notification from the relevant judicial offices, of the full document referring to the closure of investigations by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Potenza (concerning the pollution of groundwater below the Rotondella site), which included a list of all the names of those under investigation and their respective residential addresses.
This violates the security rules at the site and the regulations protecting the investigative secrecy and confidentiality of data relating to the persons directly affected by the measure. This initiative aims to protect the image and reputation of Sogin and its workers, as well as the safety of their families, whilst respecting the work of the investigating magistrates, in whom we have complete confidence.
Sogin also hopes that when dealing with sensationalist, farcical, false, insinuating and defamatory statements (in which regard, it reserves the right to evaluate taking further legal action), such as: "this is the Basilicata mafia", or "The History of ITREC deliberately hidden in exchange for jobs", published recently by the spokesman of the Cova Contro Association, local and regional institutions will want to firmly distance themselves and help calm the waters around a story that will be clarified in the appropriate forum.
