Sogin celebrates World Blood Donor Day
14 June 2024

Since 2004, World Blood Donor Day has been celebrated by the World Health Organization on 14 June every year, to raise awareness about the importance of blood donors for a safe transfusion system.
Blood donors are precious every day of the year, but today their generosity is celebrated with special emphasis. To mark this Day, and for the sixth consecutive year, Sogn held an extraordinary day of blood and plasma collection, in conjunction with
EMA-ROMA, the Association of voluntary donors that works to guarantee stock of blood components, and ensure that the needs of the hospital network in the Capital are met.
An
EMA-ROMA mobile blood donation station, with the PTV-Tor Vergata Polyclinic team on board, was available to assist the entire company population that could reach the headquarters in Rome, from 08.00 to 11.00 on Thursday 13 June.
With the confirmation of this initiative, linked to the InSalute company project, Sogin joins the collective invitation for voluntary blood donations as an inestimable simple altruistic gesture of solidarity.
We would like to thank all our colleagues that were able to take part, helping to ensure the quality, safety and availability of medical care.
