Sogin and ANPEQ sign a scientific and education collaboration agreement

Sogin and  ANPEQ, the National Professional Association of Qualified Experts in Radiation Protection, have signed a scientific and education collaboration agreement, with the aim of creating spaces for sharing and cooperation aimed at developing and updating professional skills in the radiological protection sector.

The agreement provides, in particular, for collaboration on specific activities such as: workshops, seminars and other joint educational interventions and educational visits to the Sogin nuclear plants by the members of the Association.

The first appointment scheduled as part of the agreement will be a training course entitled "The role of the radiation protection expert from the perspective of a return to nuclear power: from technological knowledge to the evaluation and communication of radiological risk".

The event will be held on 16 and 17 September 2025 at the power plant in Caorso (Piacenza), the largest of the operational Italian facilities. As part of the educational programme, there will also be a visit to the plant where Sogin technicians will show participants the decommissioning work in progress.

Through its "Radiation Protection Academy", ANPEQ carries out training to enhance the scientific and professional activities of its members and sector bodies. At the same time, Sogin, with the Radwaste Management School (RaMS), ensures the professional refresher courses for its technicians, promotes management and technological innovation, and the development of qualified know-how aimed at activating a skills transfer process to the operators of the "future" and responding to the growing demand for knowledge in the sector.
