2020 PMI DAY: students discover the Trino power station

18 December 2020

This morning, Sogin virtually welcomed 120 students from the P.L. Nervi and Bonfantini schools in Novara and showed them around the Trino nuclear power plant. Indeed, Davide Galli, Operation Manager for Trino and Bosco Marengo and Head of Decommissioning at Trino, told the students about Sogin's history and work and discussed the decommissioning projects that have either been completed or launched at the plant in the Vercelli area.

The initiative was organised in collaboration with Confindustria Novara Vercelli Valsesia within the framework of the 11th edition of ‘PMI DAY – Industriamoci’, namely the national day for SMEs promoted by Confindustria.

PMI DAY, which has now reached its 11th edition, is an opportunity for companies to tell the younger generations not only about the company's history, but also about the culture, values and work of the people who are part of it. Given the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the 2020 edition of PMI DAY was held in digital mode, thereby enabling students, who have been experiencing distance learning for some time, to meet companies online.

With this initiative, Sogin confirms its commitment to, particularly with regard to the achievement of Goal 4 – Quality Education – of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
