ANAC rejects the accusations against the CEO of Sogin: absence of assumptions in fact and law

12 November 2024

Sogin announced that in terms of Resolution no. 463 of 16 October 2024, the Council of the National Anti-Corruption Authority ordered the closure of the sanctioning procedure initiated on 21 December 2023 against Gian Luca Artizzu, CEO of Sogin S.p.A.: “finding that the factual and legal conditions for the imposition of the pecuniary administrative sanction” were lacking.

The proceedings arose from a complaint filed by a former executive, dismissed for just cause, who accused the Company’s current CEO of having taken retaliatory decisions against him.

This provision confirms the correct way in which the Company and its Management operates and re-establishes the principle of truth, noting the totally unsubstantiated nature of what had been reported to the ANAC which, moreover, had also become the subject of speculation in the press, with consequent damage to the Company and to the CEO himself.

After obscuring the details relating to the identity of the whistleblower and the person reported, the Resolution was published today on the institutional website of the National Anti-Corruption Authority.

Sogin reiterates that it will continue to monitor and implement any action required to protect the image and reputation of the Company and its workers.
